What do you call someone who takes all the adversities and inadequacies in her stride and manages to achieve success in life? Well, that’s  Niruprova Doley Pegu , of batch no 139,held from 11/11/2021 to 20/11/2021 wife of Pabitra Pegu a fourth grade employee of Bordoloni area, Dhemaji District. Education not being Nirupravas forte, she did not study beyond high school and resorted to job in a local dairy shop. Despite this, Niruprava always dreamt high and wanted to achieve success in life. Eventually, she came across an awareness camp conducted by RSETI, Dhemaji about the training programs offered by RSETI, Dhemaji and immediately approached the Institute to enquire more about the training programs. Looking at the varieties of training programmes offered by the RSETI, she decided to undergo training on Piggery. Once the training started, it was a delightful experience for Niruprava to learn the inputs given during the training which were related to her experience in the dairy shop he worked before and showed total sincerity in acquiring as much knowledge as she could on the subject. This training program also induced self-confidence and entrepreneurial skills in Niruprava and hence she decided to launch her own venture of a multipurpose agriculture farm which includes piggery, goatery, fishery, poultry, dairy and agriculture as well.

On successful completion of the training, with the help of Rs.1, 00000/- borrowed from her father, Niruprava Pegu started her own venture from her own plot near to her home itself. His sincere efforts clubbed with impeccable skills that he learnt through training helped him greatly to earn Rs. 50000/- per month and has even provided employment to 3 people on temporary basis and intends to expand her business even further. Apart from this, she is also planning to launch vermicompost production unit soon. When asked about her training experience at the RSETI, she proudly says, “It was a boon for me to have entered the portals of RSETI Dhemaji, which provided me with livelihood and success.”

Here is the story of a poor unemployed women, Mrs. Lakhimoni Das, who had resolved to bring about a change in her life and chose to be self-employed to support her family.Neither low academic qualifications nor poverty or unemployment, could deter her courage and finally with the help of PNB RSETI, Dhemaji, she achieved her goals. Due to poor economic conditions of her family, she had to discontinue her studies after 1Oth standard. She knew that given her qualification, searching a job to sustain her family was going to be difficult. She therefore decided to opt for self-employment and approached District Industries & Commerce Centre [DIC] seeking their guidance. The authorities at DIC advised her to undertake a market survey and identify a business opportunity in the area so that she can avail credit facility from a Bank to establish a micro enterprise under Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Program (PMEGP) scheme. On sincerely following the advice, she decided to establish an agarbati manufacturing factory at Bamgaon in Dhemaji district for which she submitted a loan application along with a project report to erstwhile United Bank of India   under PMEGP scheme. Thereafter, her project report was approved by the task force committee and she was advised to undergo training on General EDP at PNB RSETI, Dhemaji as required under PMEGP scheme. Accordingly she was imparted training in general EDP in the batch no 96 from 19/03/2018 to 28/03/2018. Her registration no was 01/96.  On completion of the training, with the help of loan amount from UBI, she started her venture named ‘Lakhimoni Agarbati’ on the land owned by her husband.

Lakhimonis business skills and quality products immensely benefitted her to create a large customer base. Within a short span of time, her business started flourishing in Dhemaji and nearby districts like North Lakhimpur and Jorhat providing her good returns. She is leading a successful life today along with her family and strives to make her business even more successful. Besides, she never forgets to mention her thanks to PNB RSETI and UBI Dhemaji for shaping her career. Now she provides employment to 7 rural youth in her unit and her monthly revenue generation is almost 200000 Rupees.
